Hello dear friends!
We are excited about our ribbon cutting and deaf awareness week celebration this coming Saturday, the 26th! We sincerely hope you all will be able to make this exciting and historic event for all of us, and pass on the news. We sincerely could not be where we are without your support! Thank you for all of your kind words, actions and interest. Your support means a lot to this school and to us founders, the Board and Staff at SSDS! Please come! The even begins at 1 PM, with the ribbon cutting and the Mayor of Anacortes reading a proclamation acknowledging Deaf Awareness Week soon afterwards. Together we contribute to our new school motto of "Achieving More"!
We hope to see you this Saturday!

Dear Whatcom, Skagit, Island county Deaf community members,

I have established a meeting for Deaf community members ONLY to get together to discuss openly in positive way to express our concerns about Interpreter agency within our counties.

My goal is for us the community to express our concerns for growth/improvement within the Interpreter agency.

For example:  *hiring more qualified certified interpreters

*hire recent ITP grad and mentor them into becoming skillful interpreter

                      *Interpreter boundaries

*Have interpreters available on call for emergency, especially ER, Police etc.

The meeting will be held at:

 Where:  St. Luke's Educational Center
              3333 Squalicum Pkwy
               Bellingham

Time:      6:00-8:00pm

When:      Wednesday September 30th 2015

Keep in mind this meeting is for Deaf people in the community only. No hearing allies/friends/families involved.  This allows for safe space and comfort to express concerns.

If you have any questions, please contact me.  Let me know if you plan on attending.

Many thanks,
